Sugar Loaf #2

Another trip to sugar loaf was fun and eventful. Payton and Cade came down for the week to hang out and spend some time with us so we went out there for a pic-nic. Smashed sandwiches and all we were able to make it to the top and play on the tramp for a couple of hours.

All of the little holes in the wall made a great climbing place for everyone.

It's quite amazing the things you can find to entertain yourself with just a trampoline. We played for hours jumpinf from the rocks and creating a 'shocking chain' with the static electricity.

I love the place I live and the things we are able to do because of our environment that surrounds little town Monticello. We have the mountains close enough to ride the 4-wheelers to from our house, canyonlands and arches just one hour away, Lake Powell 2 hours away, and the Colorado mountains for snowboarding in the winter also 2 hours away. It is fun to be able to use our creative ideas and to follow through with them without having a million people around to tell you that you have to pay to be there, or that it is illegal to take your belongings and leave them in one spot for more than a week. I love the memories I have made in the land I have grown up around and It is especially fun to be able to share it with my friends and family.

Davi's State Softball

Davi has always loved softball and even was able to travel with the high school team this past year to watch us play. All of the girls made her feel as apart of our team and she has come to love the sport. This past week my little sister went to her very first state softball tournament. She has become the little ball player and it has been fun to watch her grow and improve this year. I have been impressed as she played short stop and was able to get a grounder and not only get an out, but she got the lead runner on third base. Our high school team could hardly pick up that concept until this year! She says that she wants to be a catcher or pitcher when she is older and it looks like she is well on her way.


On and off the field Davi has practiced her batting stance. My dad has been good to help show her the techniques of batting: how to hold her hands, where to put her feet, watch the ball all the way, how to throw her hips, and how to roll her hands through the swing.


Even at this age they have learned to roundt he bases and to be ready to steal incase the other team messes up. Davi was the lead off batter for this year...taking well after Hunter and I who both have been lead off batter for our teams.


Davi was also able to play as pitcher for some of her games. She did really well and struck out a lot of batters! I look forward to watching her as she grows up and becomes a great athlete throughout elementary and high school!

Bowring Family Reunion

One thing you can ALWAYS count on at a Bowring reunion is a ton of fun and lots of laughter! This year we took our trailers and tents to Foy Lake and camped out for 4 days.

Some things we did at camp were fishing, golfing, swimming, horseshoes, dutchoven dinners, cobler, smores with cookies n' cream chocolate, 4-wheelers, motorcycles, slept under the stars, card games, movies, crochet for the soon to be baby boy of Amber's....and found a whole new meaning for cake mix!! There are many many flavors and as for now the flavor is simply vanilla. Pretty much all we really know is that you don't want the rainbow chip mix! haha

Even Grandma Sonderegger came along for the trip after she had just got her hair fixed. Good thing we have hair nets to keep our looks in style! :)

One of the family favorites is to go fishing. Davi and I both looked like this about the whole time while Ashlyn was catching one almost every cast she made! It must be an immediate family thing.

it back to camp and cooked it up for dinner!

While camping on the mtn, 4-Wheelers are a must! They hardly ever got a rest between all of the cousins. Especially Davi, Skylee, Kaylie, and Boston. They loved it!

This year we made a new tradition of mountain golf. We made a course by digging holes and hanging up paper plates all throughout the sage brush and trees. Surprisingly enough, we only lost 2 balls along the way. It was a great entertainer for everyone! ...and we found out the Sherrill is a better golfer than us all! She got a hole in 2 on hole #2 which was through a rock patch and a field of sagebrush. Ashlyn beat us all with a low score of 32 and I finished with a score of 42 out of the 'kids group'.

I found out that I myself am not a golfer. After playing ball all of my life, I swing like a softball player. The same techniques don't necessarily apply to golf. I consider myself a winner because I had the most points!! On hole 5 Hunter hit his ball into a patch of willow trees. Somehow he mannaged to find it in the middle of it all and was able to stay in the game. It's also a good thing we had coach Freddy Crouger there or we all would have failed! ;)

Bert was the winner out of this group with a score of 17 on 5 holes!

**4th of July**

GOD BLESS AMERICA

I feel very blessed to live in the land that I do. To all the men leaving soon, thank you for your sacrifices, your willingness to serve, for the hardships you go through, the time spent representing and fighting to protect this beautiful country we live in.We will keep a prayer in our hearts to the men and women fighting, and for their families they leave behind who support them in their standings.

The parade started off by these fighter planes flying over us as the flag was presented. It was a great reminder that the 4th of July is to celebrate our independence and the soldiers who still fight for us and not just the floats, candy, and games.


Miss San Juan Royalty... My favorite part was seeing all of the little girls on the side of the streets looking to us and the smiles they would have on their faces when we would wave to them. Being in the parade was no big deal to me, but to them it seemed pretty important. (By the way, the queen wave is harder than it looks! haha)

There's just not a parade in San Juan without the 'Big 4'tractor and the cowboys on their horses. It's a tradition that I don't think will ever end.
