...Out of Space :(

I had a night to finally catch up on my blog and update the fun happenings of the past couple of weeks, as I have spent a lot of time with family and such... In doing so, I tried uploading my photos and a notice popped up saying that I have used all of the space on my blog, and can no longer upload anymore photo memory to my posts.... :(    I will probably be designing a new blog soon so that I can keep this one until I get my posts printed out into a book. As soon as that is up and running, I'll post my new address on here so those who follow me can keep updated... I'm a little bumbed out that there is a limit to blogging space but the new blog will be good too! Hope you have enjoyed so far and hopefully I can get a new one going asap!

***P.S.  I will most likely be going private with my new blog so if you could please send me your email address to janessakaye1@hotmail.com or post it in a comment, I will send you an invite when it's up and running. Thanks!

Bowring Reunion at the Lake

This year the Bowring family had a reunion at Lake Powell. It was the first trip of the summer to the lake for Dallen and I and we had a BLAST!!! We couldn't have asked for better weather and the company of the Bowring crew made the day that much better! When we first got there all the kids were so anxious to get in the boat and cruise out on the lake to the beach. It took a couple trips to get all of us out there but sooner than later we were playing and having fun in the sun!
One of Spencer's friends from Arizona (Rex and Erika's family) came up with them for the week and spent the day with us on the lake with their boat.

Setting up the shade tents at camp...

As soon as the kids touched the sand they all ran towards the water and jumped in. Throughout the whole day I don't think there was a dull moment

This was one of the MANY trips Kaylie had to take to the bushes :)

One of the things I've always wanted to learn how to do is surf boarding...and today I was able to learn! It was a little different than anything I've ever tried before but it was super fun! Rex has grown up doing this sport  so he taught us how with his tower and boat. We had to start out with both of our feet resting on top of the board and when the boat takes off, he told us to put pressure on our heels and the board will pop up on the water. Well, I gave it a shot and was able to get up! It was really fun being on a board without bindings and riding the wake.

Surfing the wake....

Dallen did a great job too! He got up and rode the wakes like a champ!

After wake surfing and boarding, we went back for some lunch and got out the tubes! The banana entertained the kids for hours just in the water on the beach, so we took out the delta double for a while.

Ashlyn, Easton, Dallen

Easton, Ashlyn, Janessa, and Dallen
We started out by pulling the two tubes behind the boat, but it didn't really work as the tubes would cross each other and the ropes would clothes-line us. So we just went for the Delta double

Amber, Kaylie, Hunter

As we were heading back to shore to drop off the other tube, my dad was driving the boat and suddenly stopped in the middle of the lake. We weren't sure what he was doing as he ran to the back of the boat, unhooked Easton and Ashlyn's tube and then took off again. Dallen and I were laughing because we thought he was playing a joke on East and Ash by leaving them stranded, but as soon as he turned the boat around and headed out into the lake we could see exactly why he was doing what he was doing.....
....And this was the result! My dad had seen a really big "party boat" (as we like to call them) that was leaving behind it a massive wake!! He wasn't trying to play a joke on Easton and Ashlyn, but was rather leaving them behind because he knew he could launch us behind this boat! Luckily my mom had the camera and was able to snap these shots! (I do believe that we went a little higher than this picture though.... this was on our way down :) I felt like we were 15 feet in the air when we hit the jump and I just remember looking down at the water knowing we were really high! Little did I know, I wasn't even the highest one in the air as Dallen shot far above me.

The first jump was just a start to our fun rides on this tube...
There were some pretty funny pictures captured of our faces so I'll let them tell the rest of our SUPER FUN tubing experience!!! :)

Marci, Justice, Taylor, Kaylie, Janessa, Dallen

After our tubing ride, we were able to convice Maxi and Amber to get on the tube... (Maxi hates the water and is terrified of the thought that fish will bite her toes). She was not going to fall out of the tube so she sunk all the way down into the hole and all you could see was her head bobbing along the way and her feet sticking up haha... And again, the pictures say more than a thousand words about the ride that they had... (Notice that Hunter is just smiling the entire time while Maxi and Amber look like they're facing the craziest ride of their lives) We had a great laugh watching them!

Not all of the events were capture on my camera for the day but I can definitely say that it was filled with laughter and fun all throughout our trip! The day FLEW by and before we knew it, we had to pack up our stuff and head home. It was AWESOME having everyone there who could come and we can't wait to make another trip next year when Grandpa and Grandma will be home and off of their mission! Thank you so much for those who helped make the trip possible and for the fun times behind the boats. We are so lucky to have the family that we do and for the love and support we all have for each other. It makes times like these so much fun and we create memories together that will never be forgotten.

And a special thanks to my dad for putting it together and making it possible for everyone to be there and enjoy the boating :) We love you!

Sneak Peak with Kait

Kaitlin is getting so close to having her baby so we spent an afternoon taking some fun maternity shots. I'm learning more about my camera each time I use it and I'm loving it! Kait was so cute and although it was probably the hottest day of the summer so far, we had a lot of fun! Here are a couple of pics.....

I can't wait until we get to meet this cute little girl!!!

4th of July Delta Derby

Our 4th of July this year was spent in Delta watching Spencer derby. Kait and I hung out all day while the boys went to Delta early to get the car all ready and to pass inspections. I wasn't nervous at all until the derby started and everyone brought out their cars to see...

And then the derby was on! It was a small derby with only 9 cars running so all of them were in the first heat and battled it out until 3 were left.

(L to R: Cheyenne,  Courtney, Christine, Kaitlin, Janessa, Ryan and Courtney--Spencer's Mission companion and spouse)

The trucks were entertaining and had some really hard hits!

The cars had a chance to come back out for the grudge match but all of them ganged up on spencer and pushed him into the berm right off the bat...

After the final rounds were finished, they had a wipeout round to finish off cars that wouldn't be used any more.... well it ended up being just Dallen and a McPherson from Nephi who have had their rounds with each other in the past. Not knowing it was Dallen crashing, we were all cheering for Spencer! haha

After it was over, we saw Spencer walk out to his car and then Dallen climbed out! Had I known it was Dallen the whole time I would have been A LOT more nervous! I think it was almost better not knowing ahead of time because I was able to relax a little and enjoy the crashing more.
Spence did a good job and won an award for best Sportsmanship
I'm not sure that we'll ever be able to get the derby blood out of thier system. If you can't tell by the picture, the LOVE this sport and have made a lot of memories building cars together!

The pit crew....
Although Christine isn't a fan of this sport she supports her boys
It was a fun night and now Dallen is more than excited to derby his own car in a couple of weeks! We have some touching up to do and then he'll be ready to crash. Spencer is also derbying in the Nephi derby with Dallen so be prepared for more derby posts and pictures!
