In April 2011, Dallen and I got us some Holstein calves to raise and feed out for Dallen’s siblings and us. Dallen use to have a job at a Dairy in Nephi where the bulls amounted to nothing in their business. They gave them to us for free which was pretty cool and we have been taking care of them since.
They started out living in Dallen’s back yard in Nephi where he made a fence with palates and bottle fed them twice each day. Christine was good to help us feed when we couldn’t be there to do it. About one month passed by and they started mooing and making noise to which the neighbors caught notice and threatened to call the cops on it.
It was then that they got moved from Nephi to Pleasant Grove to Grandpa Proctor’s farm and have been there since. They are now getting weaned off of the bottles and starting to eat grain which is much easier when it comes to the feeding job. I have missed taking care of animals so it has been a fun thing to have them around.
