BBQ at the Park

 This past weekend Dallen and I invited some friends to come over for a BBQ at the park. We have loved using our grill and it is especially fun to get it out more often with the weather warming up. Our church ward (Wines Park Ward) has been a lot of fun and Dallen and I have been able to make many friends there. There are quite a few couples with young families or newly-weds which helps us fit right in. Anyways, Tyler and Katelyn Ely were able to come with their little girl Jessa as well as Karianna and Mike Every. The park was sunny and nice and it felt great to relax and chat with everyone. Oh, and I needed to mention that the food turned out great!

After the BBQ we cleaned up the park and then Karianna and Mike came to our house. We made a yummy cake with home-made frosting and were intertained with the game called "Likewise" for hours. It was great to have a night with friends and to get to know them a little better :) We'll definitely have more fun times to come!

Paxton's Baby Blessing

Paxton Edward Carson had his special baby blessing day over the weekend. How handsome he is and so innocent and pure. His dad Casey gave a great blessing and the spirit filled the room. This little boy was really relaxed and calm so I took a buch of pics. Here are a few that I was able to capture.

I'm so glad that we were able to be there for the blessing. I look up to Janice and Casey for the great parents they are and for the way they have raised their children. I hope to follow in their footsteps with mine and Dallen's family and I'm excited for our future kids because they have great cousins!

Dinner at Tucanos

  We were so lucky to have Hunter come and have dinner with us this week as he came up north for state solo ensemble. It was kind of funny because he told my mom that he was going to Grand Juncion (which is in colorado) when in reality the competition was in Alpine (Just next to where we live in Lehi!) He received permission from his band teacher to come and spend the night with us so we took him to the Tucanos Brazilian Grill. Dallen brought me here once before when we were dating, and I LOVED it so we thought It'd be a great place to take Hunter. At this restaurant they have every kind of Brazilian meat you could want, and its all bottomless. It is definitely a place that you don't leave hungry! 

Thank you Hunter for your hard work throughout this year in all of your sports, school, and different activities. You are a great example and deserve the very best! We love you!

Our Helper Porter

Dallen, Porter, and I spent a day this week helping Grandpa Proctor on the farm. He asked us if we would help clean out the cow's pen and then spread the manuer in the garden to till it up. Porter loves coming with us when we "work on the bulls" so we picked him up and he helped us throughout the day. Janice packed a luch for him before we left and he made sure that it was well placed and taken care of. Later, he told us that "real cowboys keep their lunches on the hay"

Porter was a little scared of the "big green tractor" because he had to sit over the wheel and hang onto the metal pole. He did a great job though and did what a cowboy would do!

 After we cleaned out the pens, we put all of the manuer in the "poop thrower" and spread it out in the garden.

It was so fun to help these two boys work on the farm and to watch them interact with each other. They are both very hard working and enjoy serving others. 

Just thought I'd add this fun little shot... Porter was blowing out the dandelion seeds all day making wishes. What a fun kid he is!

Progress on the Buggy

Dallen has been working hard on the Buggy on his "off cycles" and he has made a lot of progress! He took the buggy to 'Uncle Sam's' house where he has done a lot of welding, fixing, drilling, wiring, made new rims, mechanical technical stuff, and more.

I am really looking forward to the finished toy! It's going to be so much fun to go out to the sand dunes with Dallen in this new toy!...Especially since this buggying at the dunes is all new to me!

Antiques

Over the past couple of months Dallen and I have been collecting these old power line insulators from the rail road. They are made of glass and come in all different colors. So far we have only been able to collect the blue and clear ones, but Dallen tells me that there are some green, pink, and black ones too! We are trying to collect as many as we can so that we can pass them down to our kids and grandkids. That way they have a little souvineer of their hardworking father/grandfather from his rail road working career :) I think the oldest insulator we have is dated back to 1940!

Another antique that is new to our home is this old red hutch with antique tins we placed inside! I love it and it is a special piece of furniture since it was handed down to us from Christine. She loves hutches and is so good at painting them and decorating her house with them. I feel lucky to be able to decorate our house with this hutch that she took care of and loved herself. It adds a lot to our kitchen and looks great! Thank you so much Christine!

Our latest addition to the antique collection has been these tailgates that Dallen brought home from Oregon. We have talked about collecting some of these because we would like to make our kid's beds out of them. I think they're really cool and they date back to the 40's and 50's.

The New Dew

For quite some time I have been debating if I should get highlights in my hair or not. I haven't ever died my hair before so it was a first! I stayed over at Kaitlin's house and after talking with her, I was convinced that I would. We went to the Wal Mart in Payson and both had our hair done. (Kait got a trim and I got mine died and layered)

It definitely is a new look for me and I'm not quite use to it yet but I do like the change! It was fun to get it done

 

Buckaroo Baseball

Over the weekend I was able to travel to Gunnison to watch some Buckaroo Baseball. My brother, Hunter, is a Sophomore who plays as the catcher and lead off hitter and my dad coaches the team. I love watching both of them and I was happy to be there! Here are a couple pics of the action...

Coach Bowring

The team is very young and they have a lot of potential! They did great and won 2 of the 3 games at this tournament and even had a few home runs!

It was nice and warm and as you can see, we took full advantage!
