Pagosa Springs--Proctor Reunion

On the 25th-28th Dallen and I went to the Proctor Reunion in Pagosa Springs, Colorado. One of the days we hiked up to a big waterfall and had a picnic which was really fun.

It was quite the hike considering that we were able to get Tanner all the way up in his wheel chair and all of the kids on our backs or coolers. Grandma Joy handed out cool star sunglasses…they were awesome!!

I wish that I would have taken more pictures throughout the week but I didn’t. Some of our highlights of the trip included white water rafting, miniature golf, swimming at the swimming pool, trading materials for the cousin quilt, Navajo taco dinner with Tanner’s Grandma, playing games, fhe with minute to win it challenges, and most of all laughing with one another. I love the family that I married into and am happy that Dallen and I were able to come and make fun memories with them!

Newspaper Rock

Today Dallen and I took a loop trip on the road bike down to Newspaper Rock and back to Monticello through the Abajo Mountains. It was interesting to look at some of the carvings in the rock and to think of the stories they were trying to portray. There was a little stand in the parking lot that Navajo’s were selling jewelry so Dallen let me choose out a bracelet that I liked and he bought it for me.

I love the country of my childhood and it was fun to be able to re-track some of the places that I spent many hours growing up in. Both Dallen and I are convinced that one day we will have a motorcycle of our own to tour more places like this.

Telluride

Today we made the trek back to Monticello, but on our way we stopped at a few different towns and places. Being that it was Dallen’s birthday yesterday, and that I didn’t really get anything for him, we stopped to do some shopping and found some old license plates for him. As most of us know, Dallen loves cars and is trying to collect all 50 state license plates. Now the collection is 14 states closer to the final 50 of them!!

Our next stop was in Telluride where we had some lunch and then rode the tram up the mountain to see a village at the top. The ride was very beautiful all along the way and the village reminded both of us of Park City.

We drove all the way through Telluride and saw this waterfall at the very end of the road. Very pretty just like the rest of the places that we have been to so far!

That afternoon we pulled into Monticello just in time to watch Easton’s baseball game. He did a great job and hit a home run!!! We were happy to be able to see that. After the game Dallen and I went for a little cruise on the motorcycle, and then celebrated his birthday with the family at our house.

I LOVE YOU DALLEN!!! I wish you a happy birthday!!!
